i very much like all of your sketches : D i think even more then most of your later colored works. i enjoy seeing all the creatures and such, whitch look very much original, or new to me, and are things i don't exactly see everywhere everyday :)
as a personal thought, i've noticed how some of your sketches are based off a specific character or such, and it seems to change how the images appear in my mind, i enjoy the original creatures you've made very much :D i like your great works xD i'm glad i looked through them

Thanks, my later sketches were a result of my artistic muse being reignited when I got into My Little Pony. I was in a dry spell for about a month, not being able to draw anything or be inspired too, especially since I was in school.

getting into MLP got me out of that dry spell, and so I did a string of fan art before I got back into school, and now I'v taken another bit of a break. I'm going to diverge from my fan art at some point, it's been really fun practicing with new artistic styles and such, and it was especially fun for me to draw pony related things.

FYI, coloring is not my strong suit. that rainbow dash picture of mine I finished in around an hour, while my other, older pictures, such as the hydralisk, took well over a week.

ah yes, i've seen, excuse me if i'm wrong on this, but some of your sketches are sort of a mix of my little ponys and mecha type things i think, but for just a school sketch they're still really good, :D the my little pony addition is kinda spontaneous, not exactly in a bad way but in more of a peculiar unexpected way.

i very much liked how the style and color usage in your 'rainbow dash' picture was very unique, and in a compleatly different style then what i normally see always on the front page, i very much liked the color effect on the wings mane and tail, it gave them a very nice look! :D and its the kind of fanart that is more of FAN ART and not a kind of... erm... copy maby i could call it.

i personally also like the sketches of some of your other colored peices more then the coloration, :D of course the style of an artist is always changing!

phew, that mighta been one of the worst first impressions i made. anyway, when i they go immediately from one thing to the other i didn't meant that be all end all, i merely meant there is a distinct shard increase.

out of curiosity, what captivates you about the show? what is it that makes it so enjoyable? i'm trying to get a clear understanding of FIM and the effect it has on people (its in my academic nature)

The show is incredibly different to what I'm used to, which is normally stuff like The Walking Dead, Dexter, House, etc. It's different in the sense that it manages to be positive, fun loving, cute, and overall enjoyable while still offering competent, developed characters who act with maturity and sensibility. It's a combination that's rare to find on TV, because anything that try's to be the least bit nice or clean with cuteness ends up being driveling nonsense (strawberry shortcake is a prime example, TERRIBLE show, I even tried it after getting into MLP), and anything that has compelling characters with a rich world is often grim and depressing, or, in adventure time's case, nonsensical beyond my tastes.

The animation is also really fun and expressive, the facial expressions being a selling point for many fans. It's humor is also clean, clever, and tends to go along with the show naturally instead of resorting to abrupt, random instances for laughs, and is reminiscent to old cartoons like the loony tunes or tom and jerry which i enjoyed as a kid.

There's allot more to say about it, but the last thing i will say is the creative team is also very much enthusiastic about the fandom, and they put in many references to popculture and nods to the fandom in multiple instances.

wow... wasn't expecting such a solid and in depth answer, not to mention a good one, i may have to quote you on this in future. i also agree with it: animation style, check; humour, check; pop- culture references, check.

what i also found interesting when i thought about it was that i genuinely care about the characters, i've always been into cartoons, always. i still love dexter, and have dabbled in house and the walking dead, but cartoons have always been my thing, and yet when i really, REALLY think about it, looking at any of the dozens of notable long running shows i've watched over the years, i find that i seriously wouldn't care if any one of their main characters died or had something horrible happen to them.

catroons in recent years seems very bad at conveying real identity into their characters, they're just faceless plot devices, i can't say any of them have real, likeable qualities.

so what i like about FIM is that all of they're main characters are for example, in some way or another, unstable. each of the mane 6 have had mental breakdowns at least once thus far, and there's just something about that that makes them, ironically, human.

I know right? that's something I'v come to realize too, that I genuinely care about the characters of MLP unlike any other characters I used to enjoy from past shows. Their antics and interactions just leave a smile on my face stretched from cheek to cheek throughout each episode. I'v even come to find a bit of relation in Twilight Sparkle, being that she's socially awkward, studious, and uses logic and reasoning. She also has a bad case of anxiety, which is something I am all too familiar with.

It's also something that drives me to feel upset when I see images and animations that depict the characters in awful, painful scenarios (cupcakes is a prime example, if you've heard of it, I just can't stand looking at anything related to it).
